The Comptroller of Maryland's Unclaimed Property section maintains a list of property which has been forwarded to the state by banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions. It remains in a legal limbo, without earning any interest until claimed by its rightful owners. This seachable list contains the names of owners of stocks, bonds, savings accounts, security deposits, contents of safe deposit boxes, insurance proceeds and other valuables which are reported to the State as unclaimed by banks and other financial institutions after three years.
