Our managing partner, Jeffrey D. Katz, founded our firm in 2000 after starting his career in the tax department of Big Four accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick. Jeffrey D. Katz, Managing Partner
Jeff Katz brings decades of experience in business, tax law, estate planning and administration, elder law and more to the firm. He holds an L.L.M. degree in taxation, and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, U.S. District Court for Maryland, and the U.S. Tax Court, among others. He currently holds a “superb” 9.8/10.0 rating from Avvo, a lawyer rating service, and has received recognition from Lawyers World and Super Lawyers magazines. Jeremy Rachlin, Senior Associate
Jeremy joined JDKatz in 2012 and plays a key role in the firm’s commercial and civil litigation work on behalf of businesses, individuals, personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries of estates and trusts. Following a clerkship with the Honorable John W. Debelius, III of the Montgomery County Circuit Court, Jeremy began work at another Montgomery County firm for five years. His work with JDKatz has been recognized by placement in the 2014 Maryland Super Lawyers List, an achievement limited to just five percent of lawyers in the state of Maryland. Christopher L. Young, Associate
Christopher Young is an Associate at JDKatz and is currently admitted to practice in Virginia and Maryland. Mr. Young focuses his practice on, among other areas, tax controversies, estate planning and administration, and issues related to corporate disputes. In addition, Mr. Young assists both individual and business clients in resolving tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and with state taxing authorities.
